If you've ever discovered a stick collection in your car, tried reasoning with a two-year-old just to remember that they don't understand reasoning yet, or been slapped in the face out of nowhere after your child gives you a hug... welcome.

Piper's Edge didn't start because I thought the world desperately needed another kids' clothing brand. It started because I kept noticing something.
Kids are naturally curious.
They're little scientists disguised as tiny humans. They ask impossible questions, invent games with absolutely no rules, climb things they probably shouldn't, and somehow turn a cardboard box into the greatest invention of all time.
Somewhere along the way, though, curiosity starts getting replaced with "just because."
Just because that's how it's always been done.
Just because someone said so.
Just because.
And I don't know about you, but that answer has never been particularly satisfying.
Now, before anyone thinks I'm suggesting we encourage children to ignore every instruction they've ever been given... absolutely not.
Wear the bike helmet.
Look both ways.
Don't lick the shopping trolley.
Some rules exist for very good reasons.
But once we understand why the rules exist, something interesting happens.
Confidence grows.
Kids stop following directions simply because someone bigger said so. They begin making thoughtful decisions for themselves. That's the kind of courage I hope to encourage.
Not reckless. Not loud. Just quietly confident.
The kind that asks questions.
The kind that thinks independently.
The kind that isn't afraid to say, "Can we try it this way?"
That's the heart behind Piper's Edge.
The clothes are fun, absolutely.
You'll find surfing pelicans, skateboarding herons, dinosaurs doing questionable athletic activities, and animals that seem to have far more hobbies than the average adult.
But underneath the illustrations is a bigger idea.
Childhood should feel like an adventure.
Not the social media version where every day is a magical woodland picnic.
The real version.
Mud on the knees.
Pebbles in pockets.
Saltwater in the hair.
Grass stains.
Endless questions.
Tiny hands clapping in celebration.
The kind of childhood where learning happens because someone wandered a little further, looked a little closer, or asked "why?" one more time.
I'm learning this right alongside my own child.
Every day reminds me that raising curious humans doesn't mean having all the answers. Sometimes it just means resisting the urge to answer too quickly.
So this blog isn't going to be full of parenting advice from someone who's mastered it.
I definitely haven't.
It's going to be stories. Ideas. Things I'm learning. Illustrations. The occasional design process. Probably a few parenting moments that seemed much funnier after everyone finally went to bed.
Mostly, though, I hope it feels like a conversation. One parent to another.
